Monks Retreat is a beautiful Barn Conversion situated in the heart of the charming village of Ewyas Harold, equidistant from Hereford and Abergavenny. Hay-on-Wye, home to the famous annual Literary Festival, is thirteen miles away. We are ideally placed for walking routes through the stunning Golden Valley and for the more adventurous, the nearby Black Mountains.
Our village boasts two pubs one of which is renowned for its locally sourced cuisine, and a highly popular Fish & Chip Shop. Monks Retreat is perfectly placed near a well stocked General Store and Post Office.
Ewyas Harold has a number of places of worship all within walking distance.
